Het roetfilter (DPF)

De meeste auto’s en bedrijfswagens zijn tegenwoordig uitgerust met een roetfilter (DPF). Het doel hiervan is om de uitlaatgassen door te laten en de roetdeeltjes op te vangen. Dit is natuurlijk goed voor het milieu, maar geeft ook zeker nadelen aan de motor.

De roetdeeltjes worden tijdelijk opgeslagen in het roetfilter (DPF). Om de aantal uren gebeurt er een regeneratieproces omdat het filter verzadigd is. Dit wordt gemeten door de druksensor in het roetfilter (DPF). Tijdens dit proces worden de roetdeeltjes bij hoge temperatuur verbrand.

Om dit te bereiken dient er een aanzienlijke hoeveelheid diesel in het roetfilter (DPF) gespoten te worden. Regeneratie is dus de vernietiging van gestockeerde roetdeeltjes bij een extreem hoge temperatuur.

Een nadeel hiervan is dat dit een negatieve invloed heeft op het brandstofverbruik. Doorgaans vindt een regeneratie automatisch plaats tijdens werkzaamheden.

Problemen bij roetfilters:

  • Wanneer de motor bijna niet op bedrijfstemperatuur komt, is de verbranding niet optimaal en wordt de uitstoot van de roetdeeltjes groter. Hierdoor zal het roetfilter sneller en eerder verzadigd raken.

  • Doordat de motor niet op bedrijfstemperatuur komt, zal het roetfilter een te lage temperatuur bereiken om het regeneratieproces te kunnen opstarten. Het gevolg is dat het roetfilter verstopt raakt. Hierdoor zal het motorvermogen afnemen, de computer een foutmelding geven en uw auto  voor reparatie naar de dealer  moeten. De dealer kan met een geforceerde regeneratie de roetfilter leegmaken. Bij herhaling of laattijdig ingrijpen kan dit leiden tot beschadiging van het roetfilter. De  levensduur van het roetfilter wordt hierdoor verkort.

  • Het brandstofverbruik stijgt drastisch, omdat het regeneratieproces vrij veel brandstof kost.

Conclusie:
De onderhoudskosten stijgen en de levensduur van het roetfilter wordt ernstig verkort. Mede het brandstofverbruik zal vrij fors zijn.

Roetfilter softwarematig uitprogrammeren

Wat kan Chip Performance voor u betekenen?

In de praktijk blijkt dat er toch vrij veel problemen ontstaan met het roetfilter. De kosten kunnen oplopen tot wel €2500,- voor het compleet vervangen van een roetfilter. Wij bieden de oplossing om het roetfilter uit te programmeren. U moet er zelf voor zorgen dat het roetfilter leeg gemaakt wordt of dat er een vervangingspijp wordt gemonteerd. Dit kunt u laten doen bij uw garage of dealer. Als dit niet mogelijk is, kunnen wij dit voor u verzorgen. Wij programmeren het roetfilter uit de software even als het regeneratieproces.

Kosten om een roetfilter softwarematig uit te programmeren zijn, afhankelijk van het type en bouwjaar van uw auto, tussen de €300 en €500,- exclusief het verwijderen van het mechanisch gedeelte van het roetfilter.

Voordelen:

  • Geen onderhoudskosten meer aan het roetfilter gedeelte.

  • Meer koppel in lage toeren omdat er geen tegendruk meer is van het roetfilter.

  • Lager brandstofverbruik wat kan oplopen tot wel 7%!
